Once a month Summit Street Team gathers together for a meeting filled with food and fellowship! 

We aim to encourage one another, support each other in the trials, celebrate what God is doing (the wins), and cast vision for continued impact on our homes and communities in the future!

They gather every other Wednesday at Kiley Ranch Senior Living. 

We have the opportunity to serve our unhoused friends and surrounding neighbors with a meal and most importantly connections and building relationships through Bread and Water Ministries.

All meal-prep will happen at home. The location we will meet at is the Wells Bridge Pass (Under).

We serve at the Reno Sparks Gospel Mission on the 4th Thursday of the month!

We gather, pray and prepare to serve at 4:45. Dinner is served from 5:00 to 6:00.

Our tasks can vary based on how many people are volunteering that night (and any special requests from RSGM, ie. Christmas in July) but this is sample of what we do:

Dish up plates with the evening's meal. Hand out meals to guests. Hand out beverages. Hand out dessert. Gather and dispose of completed plates. Clean tables for next round. Talk and/or pray with guests as you feel comfortable.

When meal is over:

Wipe down tables and chairs Place chairs upside down on tables.

The time goes by very quickly and they are always very appreciative for the assistance. We are usually out of there by 6:15.

Prepare a hot meal for the Teen Challenge boys. The event includes enjoying dinner together and a fun activity like playing trivia or other games together. There should be availability all week to serve except Thursdays. 

Teen challenge also has some yardwork needs, possibly to include laying new sod, weeding, edging, trimming and more. This would be a moderate skill project with a team member willing to check out the scope of work in advance.

There is also an opportunity to purchase items from the Teen Challenge grocery wish list to stock their freezer and pantry. This will involve pooling funds, shopping for food, and delivering the items. If you would also like to assemble hygiene kits or back-to-school supplies, please contact them for their needs.

Spread the Word Nevada is a children’s lit­er­acy non­profit cor­po­ra­tion, ded­i­cated to advanc­ing early child­hood lit­er­acy by plac­ing books into the hands and homes of chil­dren within Nevada low income com­mu­ni­ties. While devel­op­ing a love of read­ing, these libraries pro­mote future aca­d­e­mic achieve­ment and self-confidence, which impacts life long success. You can help by cleaning books onsite or helping in the warehouse.

We need at least 5 volunteers to help inside with the flow of participants, aid with check-in, and be a friendly face to those who are seeking help.

Stone Valley Memory Care is a center that serves individuals with cognitive impairments and they are seeking help from volunteers that can provide companionship, labeling clothes, crafts, baking, folding laundry and much more!
